2012, Pekanbaru 3.35 Percent Inflation

PEKANBARU - PekanbaruToday - Total inflation in Pekanbaru during the year 2012 (January to December) reached 3.35 percent. Meanwhile, in the same period, inflation in Dumai just as much as 3.21 percent.

Group expenditure of inflation during 2012 in Pekanbaru is the education, recreation and sport (7.26 percent), processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (6.45 percent).

"For the health group (5.16 percent), housing, water, electricity, gas and fuels (4.88 percent), clothing (3.41 percent) and the transportation, communication and financial services (0.84 percent ). Instead, foodstuffs actually experienced deflation of 0.13 percent," explained Head of BPS Riau, Mawarda Arsyad, Wednesday (01/02/2013).

Group expenditure of inflation in Dumai is education, recreation and sport (5.44 percent), processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (4.40 percent), health (2.40 percent), housing, water electricity, gas and fuels (4.45 percent), clothing (4.70 percent) and the transportation, communication and financial services (1.36 percent) and food group by 1.90 percent.

According to Mawardi, in December, Pekanbaru experienced inflation of 0.41 per cent of the consumer price index amounted to 133.68.

Inflation in Pekanbaru in December, due to rising food prices (1.54 percent), housing, water, electricity, gas and fuels (0.11 percent, education, recreation and sport (0.07 percent) and clothing (0.05 percent)

Some commodities contributor to inflation in Pekanbaru include chicken, beef, rice, carrots, spinach, potatoes, onions, garlic, eggplant length, fish lemongrass, chili, kaion curtains, eggs, bricks, beans and baung fish.(pto)
